COMMUNITY LUNCHES IN YES
The Stage 1 Community Connections class in YES has been practicing cooking and presentation skills over the last two terms in preparation for community lunches.
Students have planned not only the recipe, but a kitchen workflow roster to ensure all students participate and are working as a collaborative group to enhance their teamwork skills. The community lunch helps students to understand the importance of giving back to the community and they came up with the idea of sharing their food with fellow students in the YES Centre. For the first lunch they provided 56 slices of pizza and 40 individual cheesy garlic breads which everyone enjoyed from the feedback they received as a part of the Stage 1 practical component. There are two more community lunches planned for Term 3.
