STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT 3D PRINTING AND LASER CUTTING IN STEM
The vast possibilities of 3D printing and laser cutting are being explored by YES Centre students during STEM lessons with Mr Burghof.
Students have used different software programs to prepare and design projects in the maker room in the new STEM building. One task required students to make a ‘friend’ between 70mm-100mm in size.
Students were encouraged to come up with unique features for the ‘friend’, such as ears, nose, mouth, hair etc. A second task required students to prepare artwork to be laser cut.
The project involved designing a bird which had to stand upright from the table at a height of about 100mm.
